Fife Leagues

The Fife Leagues are held in Glenrothes, and in two main sections.
The Novice League is generally for younger and newer swimmers. Swimmers
can be entered with no formally recorded swimming times, and may swim in a
particular stroke until they reach the "speed flash" time in that stroke.
That is seen as a major achievement, but it then bars them from swimming that
stroke at that distance in the Fife Novice League. Hopefully, though, they
won't be too far off getting a place in the more senior league.
"The" Fife League is generally for the more experienced swimmers. In order
for us to be allowed to enter one of our swimmers for an event, that swimmer has
to have had a formally recorded time for that stroke for that distance that is
equal to or better than the qualifying time. These times are given below.
If there is more than one of our swimmers in the relevant age group that meets
these times, our selectors have to pick an appropriate squad from amongst those
swimmers.

These leagues are a team event, with points being scored for each race.
The club is obliged to supply a certain number of
officials for each session, so the assistance of parents timekeeping or helping
look after the team members is much appreciated.
